Confidence Through Peer Support: Workshop
Duration: 1 hour
Number of Participants: Up to 30
For this workshop, it is essential students have access to a device (e.g. laptop, tablet, or smartphone).
Tellmi is one of the leading providers of safe digital peer support.
Our popular Peer Support workshop looks at the key theme of building confidence in young people. Students will learn about the power of peer support and have the opportunity to apply peer support techniques in a safe and inclusive environment. In line with the PSHE programme of study, students explore how we are all unique; that recognising and demonstrating personal strengths builds self-confidence, self-esteem and good health and wellbeing. They will also learn how to identify and articulate a range of emotions accurately and sensitively, using appropriate vocabulary.
During the workshop, students will:
Learn the core techniques used in peer support.
Understand why peer support is important and effective.
Understand what good (and bad) peer support looks like.
Develop an in-depth understanding of the Tellmi app, including the directory.
Practise their communication skills in a comfortable setting.
Apply their peer support skills in a real-time, real-world setting, in-person and through Tellmi.
Leave the workshop feeling confident that they can provide good peer support and self-manage their mental health.
Provide an opportunity for feedback and reflection.
The workshop can be delivered for individual classes or an entire year group. Our facilitators are DBS checked and bring a wealth of knowledge and experience in psychology, education and working with young people.
‘Knowing how to support others is really important, and this session widened my knowledge and will definitely help me in the future.’ - Year 11 Student
‘Our students really enjoyed the session and will hopefully have more confidence in how they can support others following the workshop. Thanks very much!’ - DSL
Please note, after you have requested the workshop, we will get in touch with you to discuss further details.
